And that's the other thing, you could never, ever sell a chicken for that much here. Folks would laugh at you and go buy pork or beef instead

Depends on the locals. Capon is a traditional dish in some countries, so some people may be thrilled to find some available.

But yeah, where I am now it wouldn't work. Though my fiance's family may flip when we start having capons (they're from Italy). If you are anywhere near a population of the french, it'd be a pretty good market, too.
