How do I stop my chickens from pecking each other? *GRAPHIC PICTURES*

That could work. It will take time though. What we did was cut the run in half with chicken wire and placed the new chicken on one side and the regular flock on the other. If you do that then just take a day without free ranging so they can be near other. Eventually you can remove it have no problems. Good luck
I think I might do that!

The injured chicken: separate it from the rest of the flock (you can have it with a nice buddy, though) and disinfect the wound with Blu-Kote. If you don't have any, I'm sure rubbing alcohol would be fine. You could even just clean it with water and apply NON-PAIN RELIEF neosporin to the wound. It would also be a good idea to add electrolytes to their water

Okay! Thanks for the advice!

Alright then. What should I do with the injured chicken though?
.......`Obviously separate the two...first clean up the wounded area removing any blood from both feathers & the actual wound so flys are not attracted to lay eggs...apply any type of wound dressing such as neosporin or generic equivalent....or equine charcoal wound powder to speed up healing over.. .. ALL of the previous excellent suggestions considered, I'd be cooping up that nasty ol' hen in solitary confinement with a George Forman Rotissery grill for about a week while the youngster recouped...or with a mirror. She'll peck at herself till her beak gets sore...Maybe she'll learn a lesson.. :)....Oversee the next reunion after the split fence method........has this happened with this older hen before??

Thanks for your help! The older hen was supposed to be accepted by one of my broody hens months ago. The sad thing about it was that she was never accepted... Maybe thats why she is so mean now...

Maybe that broody hen sees something you don't, like a family relative...sibling rivalry...I guess thats why someone invnented chicken saddles....Hopefully it will work out, but there's nothing worse than having that bleeding red target to aim for....getting a scab & healing should be fairly quick with Neosporin or dust....used many times on bleeding wounds....the dust comes in a bottle with small hole you can sort of spray on the wound.....clots well.....good luck with her..RR

Maybe.... I think I might end up using neosporin. Thanks for your advice!
