How do I store eggs until we are ready to hatch them?

Hi There,
Wondering if anyone can tell us how we should store the eggs (now hopefully fertile since we obtained a rooster), until we are ready to put them under one of our several 'broody' hens?

the fresher they are the more viable they will be (if the rooster did his job well). I think the eggs can be stored at room temps on a counter for a day or two before setting. It's best not to try cleaning them first( unless terribly filfthy) as it removes the "bloom' that protects the shell.
