How do I tell if its a hen or a rooster

Hi does anybody know how to sex white cochin chicks and speckled sussex chicks?

If it crows, it's generally a rooster.
If it doesn't lay eggs, it's generally a rooster.
But if it looks like it wants to get in a crock pot, it could be anything.

they just started cracking the shell yesterday, and they are not fully out yet

You will know on the Sussex in about 4-6 weeks. Cochins are slow growers so it may take longer to sex those.
