How do I treat chicken mites

You need a permrethrine based products like poultry dust or spray.
clean out the entire coop, bedding, litter, and treat everything in the coop with the product. Treat your birds with the product and put new bedding and litter.
 
Mites hatch and reproduce in 5-7 days, so after treating with permethrin garden dust or spray, retreat in 7 days at least twice. Also coop and nest bedding ahould be removed far away, and the coop, nests, and roosts sprayed. Replace with new bedding. Elector PSP is another product used for mite treatment.
