I just noticed that a couple of my chickens feet is flaking off. Do chickens normally shed foot scales? Or is this disease? I don't see any mites on them but not sure these mites are visible by human eyes.

Those appear to be healthy feet. Usually, scaly leg mites can be recognized by the scales separating and lifting up with filthy secretions under them. But if you are seeing anything that appears not to be normal, the treatment is very simple and easy.

The easy, cheap treatment is to slather on castor oil or petroleum jelly for about one week to smother the mites. Or you can use Elector PSP and dip the legs and feet for about five minutes one time to kill the mites. It's very expensive, though while castor oil and Veseline are just a few dollars.

The pink part of the feet seems like a new scale. My one other chicken's foot has a couple of loose scales, but I don't see any filthy secretion. I have all three items you mentioned so I'll try castor oil if it gets worse. Thanks for replying.
FB posts with worst case chickens always get me so I'm pretty much stocked with remedies, but I don't know how to properly diagnose 😂 So grateful for this site!!
