Our temps are running in the 80-90 during the day and dipping into the low 60 at night.
Chicks are in the run at will from when the due burns off till I put them up at 7:30 pm.(by then they are bedded up together outside)
The girls are 4.5 wk old and been in outside cope 4 days with light at night and 2 of those with access to the run.
.
1. At what night temp (or age) can I quit using the light?
2.Why am I having to guide them into the coop at night? During the day anything that scars them they latterly fly to the coop.
3.I no longer feed in the coop; when can I stop offering water?
.
Years ago I had chicks but were cared for by the hen. I only fed cracked corn to make it easier to get near them and they cooped up every night on their own.
