We have a brown sexlink that lays in random locations in the coop.
First of all, are the nest boxes in a quiet, darker location? Second of all, do you have golf balls or fake eggs in the nest? This helps them know that the nest box is the best place to lay. If they are new layers, it will take them a couple of tries to get it right. You could also try moving the eggs they do lay into the nest box and that might encourage them as well.
I hope this tips will encourage your hens to use "Nest Boxes".
1.You should use one box per every 4-5 hens.
2.Dark corner place is better to use Nest Boxes, cause hens think it is safe place to lay their eggs.
3. You can train them by using fake ceramic eggs from feed or supply stores.
4.Make nest boxes soft and comfy.
