How do we get them to go in the coop at night?

As a side note, if they were under the roosting bars when you were causing a ruckus they might be afraid. My ducks don’t like anything to happen over their heads. I think it’s because they’re always expecting predators from above.

This makes sense! We did end up herding them in last night but there was a lot of drama. I hope we can avoid that tonight. We will plan to feed them inside tonight. Maybe even this morning (everyone is fed twice a day).

That’s why I have their food inside but not water. I had to move their food inside to keep the deer out of it...

You don't give them food without water though right? they need water to wash down their feed.

I give mine a small amount of water, to wash down their meal worm reward for going in.

My 11 get 2 big food buckets all day long. If they don't chow down then oh well, so sad so sorry! Just kidding but they do and they are fine without food all night long but when I open the pens in the morning its like I've got 11 little piggies. I put those food buckets out and they are on them but then it's off to forage and explore, rape and pillage.

Mine usually eat and then wattle over to their water dish, although they do eat at night as well, they seem to do fine. I do feed crumble though
