how do y'all keep free range chickens out of your garden beds?

We have had a flock of free range birds for the past several years and they are very happy and safe here.

I usually keep them out of most of my garden beds with about a 2 foot high 2x4 welded wire fencing. This works pretty good but I don't really like the look of it.

Recently, I've tried putting twigs into the ground around the beds in a crosshatch pattern. it seems promising, but so far they seem to be able to break in a little easier.

I'd love to see pics of how y'all are keeping those birds out of your beds.

I use 2' chicken wire and it works great, not the prettiest but worth it so that we get to eat some of the garden produce.

This is PRECISELY why I don't free range.

I raise vegetables. My sister-in-law, with whom we share the property, takes great pride in her flowers.

Chickens stay inside their coop and run.
