How do you administer liquid meds in a syringe?

I am trying to give my chicken an epson water flush. 30 cc with 1 tsp epson salts. Tastes terrible so want to syringe it in her beak. How do I do this without getting it in her lungs?

The safe way is to drop it on the side of her beak and let her pull it in and swallow. You are wise not to squirt it into her mouth.
