How do you all get such good pictures?

Straight run means, you get what you get. They don't know if they are a cockeral (male) or pullet (female). They're just a mix of each, could be male or female.

x2 Sit somewhere with your chicks until they come over to investigate. Those are my best pictures. The rest have lots of blurry, red blobs.

We let our chicks out in the living room to run around with the kids once a day and that seems to be the best time to get pictures for us.... I just follow them around... Get down to their level, zoom in and snap away

That is exactly what I do- I take a crap load of pictures and sort them out on my computer when I can see them full screen and edit them if need be. You get more bad ones than you do good ones I find

This shot was A LOT of patience and good timing. I also used the "quick movement" technique - I squatted down real fast, and made some weird noises. I knew salem would stop and be like "what?!"

This is an action shot. Nothing but good luck and being aware of what the chickens were doing.

This is what we mean by "get down on their level". I was sitting in the grass when I got this shot!

This shot is used with natural lighting indoors... Although, it's not the best of lighting, natural light is always better than other choices in my opinion. This is aslo "on her level".

It looks much better than this -

I thought you might like some visual aids. I hope these help!
