How do you bandage a hen?

From the same person whose wyandotte hen randomly lost a leg. I'd like to keep her around the house to keep a closer eye on her, but we have blow flies and fruit flies who will lay eggs in her wound. I dislike the thought of taping feathers, and I don't exactly have any band-aids that I know of. I could double check. I have it packed with steril cotton balls to keep the insects out currently.

Edit: Nope, no band-aids.
