How do you can pickled green tomatoes & peppers?

My GrandMother passed away when I was 12. She made pickled hot green tomatoes with peppers, for eating with greens.

I have jars, rings & lids
Peppers
Green tomatoes
Salt
Vinegar

But I have NO clue what to do.

I ***think*** that I'm supposed to boil the vinegar, and use hot jars packed with the peppers & maters.

I know salt is involved, but I don't know how much.

go get yourself the ball jar blue book (they should have it near canning supplies) and it will tell you. i can do a little research and get my grams recipe for green tomato pickles for you, but hers are sweet (hot sounds great, tho) like bread and butter. everyone has different recipes, so finding the exact one is going to be hard.

I would think you could use any pickling brine recipe from a pickle recipe and it would work. I sometimes do pickled green beans or okra and I use the same brine that I use for my dill pickles.
