I've been seeing a pregnant dove flying around my house and it looks like it's going to lay a egg real soon so i need to know how catch it to make sure it has it in a safe area because there
are a lot of cats in my neighborhood if you could reply i would be more than happy

Are you talking about a wild mourning dove? They are usually good at finding nests up off the ground, often reusing robin nests. But it is kind of late for another brood right now.

Messing with wild songbirds is illegal. It is more legal to buy a hunting license and shoot them for dinner than to net them. Aside from that, good luck catching one - they are VERY fast fliers.

What do you mean a "pregnant dove"... Birds don't get "pregnant" they just form 1 egg at a time & lay it. What you are seeing is probably just a fat female dove. They tend to be fatter & fluffier than males.

I saw a gardening show once where a dove had made a nest in a hanging planter that had spanish moss in it, if you have a sheltered spot you could try it............? They seem to like darker-medium toned colors to blend with, so if you do it don't use white!

Definitely illegal to capture or enclose a wild dove. If she comes and goes at will, you can still give her shelter, but they mostly like not being enclosed.

Good luck! They are beautiful, you may get lucky and have one take up residence in your yard, especially if you put out some dove seed.

:)
