I have two White Crested Polish. At this point they could be more accurately called Dingy Crusty Crested Polish. After all, those watermellon and strawberry treats are made to dig into. How do you clean a Polish crest? Do you use plain water? I wouldn't want to get anything in his eyes that would hurt him. How do you not damage the feathers? How many people does it take!!??

Also, one has a wound that needs looking at. I am working on another coop area so I can seperate them, but someone out there pecked him on the head. Is it OK to use neosporin on a chicken?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know about Neosporin but I just posted a question about my White Crested Polish who has had a lot of his crest feathers pecked out and I was told to use either Pine Tar or Blu Kote. I used Blu Kote seeing as my local farm supply store didn't carry Pine Tar.

Thanks. I will treat him today and hopefully have his new housing set up sometime tomorrow. It seems that the pecking has stopped for now, but I am sure it is only a matter of time before someone starts picking on him again. He is such a beautiful bird. I think they are all jealous.
