how do you clean a styro foam bator??? I berly open the bator and

it stinks bad!!!!!!!
 
Several methods I use....First clean right after a hatch...Outside, water, brush and diluted bleach solution.

Then solar cleaning.. (Put in sunlight for about 4 days)

Lastly a good spray light Lysol and back in the sun.

Important - not getting wiring wet!

Also, something to hold the incubator down when it's outside!

Commercial disinfectant is also available but we prefer bleach.

I always use a bleach solution diluted 10 to 1 .soak for about 15 mins , scrub til clean ,then rinse, dry in sun if its sunny . If not i just dry in the house .

And don't it leave where free ranging chickens can get to it.

You won't have a bator to worry about cleaning.
