Hi All, I have a Brinsea Mini Advance II and I took it out because Im getting some hatching eggs from the Northeastern Poultry Congress this weekend. Well I don't know if I forgot to clean it last year or what but its all dirty. How do you all clean these? It seems like its dirty in the upper part near the heat coil but it looks like its all enclosed. Its not filthy, actually looks like dust more than dirt. Will it harm my hatch if I can't clean this part, will it catch fire? Thanks

To clean incubators in previous years, I used vinegar, ammonia and bleach. Then air dry in the sunlight.
I've started using activated oxine which kills virtually everything (bacteria, virus, fungus, and other pathogens). It is perfect for incubators.
If you buy oxine, you also have to get the activator which is citric acid.

Here's an article on our website that talks about how to clean your incubator: http://www.brinsea.com/Articles/Advice/IncubatorCleaning.aspx

We recommend using diluted bleach and rinsing every part thoroughly to completely remove the bleach solution. Never use anything with alcohol in it, as this can corrode and damage the plastic over time.
