I'm pretty much at the same point as you. I got my cute little egg basket and half the time it has something else in it (kids are great:p).I have been thinking about making an egg apron and since next spring I will have 40 laying hens I dont think my basket will be big enough lol

This is my egg apron.

ETA: It ties off just above my hips and stops just above my knees so I don't have to worry about bouncing the eggs around and cracking them when I'm walking. It's got two rows of pockets. Each pocket is deep enough to hold two standard size eggs.

I love the pattern on it. I am getting mine tomorrow and I am going to tell my husband not to collect the eggs in the morning so I can do it with my new apron.

This apron looks great. I won't go on any other sites, here is where I trust plus one other forum plus YouTube the only other place I take a risk on I just love documentaries and chat shows.

My egg apron is bib-type and has two pockets. I can fit 6 to 8 eggs in each pocket. I walk with a cane (bad ankle!), so it's helpful to have a hand free to do other things, like scatter scratch and open gates, rather than carry eggs in a basket.
