How do you cook your eggs

I crack one egg (for 10 chicks) in a bowl and scramble it.
Pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Mash it up.
Put it back for 15-20 more seconds.
Re-mash with a fork.

Sometimes I add a bit of water. They love it, there is no added fat, no real mess and is done in less than a minute.

Just a bit of butter or left over bacon grease in the pan.
I also give my birds ground up beef fat (suet) in the winter to increase body fat for warmth and have never had a problem.

My chicks were very young when I gave them a bit of olive oil with their treat meal, as recommended by Patricia Foreman in her book City Chicks. I probably gave them too much, too soon, but I didn't want to give them diarrhea again, so I stopped altogether. They are now seven weeks old, outside all the time, and some fat probably won't hurt them. I know that when they are adults they can handle more fat. She recommends in the book to mix only a tablespoon of oil (olive, flax or fish oil) to 5 pounds of feed, but I was just mixing up a small amount.
