How do you create a breed bloodline?

Put years and years of work and focus into it, breed for the SOP for the breed, add your own ultimate goal, and create a result that a lot of people enjoy, example - Bev Davis Marans.

I don't know if there is a hard and fast rule. I think once you put your 'stamp' on a breed and it breeds true you can say you have a line.

Here's two roos from different lines:

Same breed, but different focus. Distinct birds.
