How do you cull a sick chicken? I think she is beyond help and I don't want to prolong her pain.

I never thought I would get so attached to a chicken...

Have you checked her for being egg bound?

No she's not laying she is only 3ish months old

You have the sick silkie,did you check all areas i mentioned? Have you looked at her crop?

We had to cull a hen recently. My husband used his air rifle to the back of the head. Quick and painless and she didn't make a sound. Also no mess either.

Yes, you can get attached. Cried like a baby over her. But she is not suffering any longer.
