How do you dust chickens for lice?

I'm always told to dust them but I'm not sure where and how much to use?

Primarily around the vent, under the wings and around the neck, at the base of the feathers. Or you can put the whole bird in a plastic bag (except the head of course) and just kind of shake it over them. Or you can put some dust in an old nylon stocking and pat them with it like a powder puff. Or put some in their favorite dust bathing place and let them do it.
