Lol...dig hole...insert seed...cover seed...water...watch.

I'm not being sarcastic. It really is just that easy. Nature takes care of about 95 percent of the work for you. All you need to do it decide where that seed goes and provide a little TLC. And the great thing is you can garden about anywhere! From acre-sized plots full of corn and 'taters to pots on the porch with herbs and cherry tomatoes.

One piece of advice. Plants need room. Roots just don't go down, they grow out to in order to get plenty of water. So space them properly. Most seed packets have general spacing requirments on the back of the package.

First you have to decide what you want to grow, because most things have slightly different requirements. Raising apples is different from raising cactus.

Start small. Don't go overboard and do 2 acres, it'll work you to death and you'll get discouraged. Dig up a couple of beds, go buy some started plants at Lowes, Walmart, local feedstore, and plant them in your prepared bed. Water, weed and watch them grow. It is exciting to watch vegetables grow to harvest size. Good luck and let us know how you do.

yea, start small and then you can start adding 1 or 2 different vegetables and you might want to consider putting a flower or two in to attract bees to polinate and they are nice to look at.
