How do you get an EE??

I've never had an EE before but I have read that they are essentially mutts/mixed breeds. So it got me wondering what do you cross to get an EE?

I was going to post the best way to get an EE is to buy Ameraucanas from a hatchery.

To answer your question though, you cross a blue egg layer (Ameraucana or Araucana) with any other color egg layer. Actually, if you cross a blue egg layer with a dark brown egg layer (ie Marans) you wind up with an olive egger.

the definition of EE is any hen that lays a green/ blue/ olive egg. or just something colorful. If you have a hen that lays a green egg that gene is dominant (in a way) so you can cross it with just about anything and it will lay a colorful egg. Thats the BASICs
