How do you get keets to use a nipple waterer?

We put a nipple waterer in our keets nursery along with the waterer they've had since we got them, but they still haven't used it. Is there something else we need to do to get them to start using it? We'd like to use nipple waterers in our guinea run and coop once we get it built. Thank you.

When I get chickens (April) we are going to use a nipple waterer. Is there red on yours? this is supposed to get chickens to peck at it, then learn to drink, but if you have a red heat lamp, it might be hard for them to see it. I would suggest holding them up to it one at a time, then wiggling it near there beaks so water comes out to show them what it does. Also, make sure it is the right height and things like that so that they will notice it. :) good luck!

It is red, we'll try picking them up and showing them, they've been a bit hard to catch though and they're flying a bit too, ugh. But, that gives me an idea about how we might be able to show them. I didn't realize the color would matter. My husband has gone to great lengths to make sure it's the right heigth, they're his vabies, he, he.
