I bought some eggs from someone and sent a money order. We put it in the post office bin Sunday but since it was easter it wouldn't be sent off until Monday. They are only a state away and it did not come in the mail today. How do I get the money back so I can send another one?

Depends on where you got it from. I usually get mine at The Post Office, Before issuing a refund, they'll run a tracer on it, and in a certain amount of time, you'll get a refund. Its been a few years since I've had to do it though.. They will want your reciept

I don't think you can.... contact the issuer of the money order and see what they say

eta- yes, where you got makes the biggest difference. I haven't had a problem in many years with any and got one at a gas station(I was young) and that was a disaster. I don't think they would refund you this quickly....

It's a western union one from a gas station. If I call the post office can they find the letter?

I found out that to track/refund it is $20. Then you have to wait 6 weeks. That's rediculous. Me and mom were saying if it's not there Monday we would send another one (the MO was only $20) and if she gets both she can either send one back or possibly more eggs.

Wow, I can't believe they're charging you for a refund! Next time you have to do a money order, use the post office... they don't charge you for a refund.

When sending a money order put it in a bubble envelope. That way you can put delivery confirmation on it. That will also let you send it priority. I only except postal money orders. You can cash them at any post office. I have to travel 20 minutes to cash a western union payment.

money orders are not sucure that's how they do many scams on the net, go with pay pal or regular checks.
