Hatching egg with detached shell

Guuuuuuuuys it pipped! It's a small hole but it's there! And just a milimeter above the end of the tape (good calculations, little guy!)! Crossing my fingers!

I would not take any of the shell off. If the chick is still alive I would leave it be and let it do what it's going to do on it's own.

Sorry that I don’t have much experience with hatching eggs. Maybe others will chime in. I hope the chick makes it.

I think the chick will
make it! I had a developing egg that got really smashed in in one side during incubation. I mended an entire side with candle wax. Hatched fine! They are remarkable at getting out. Assisting too early can kill them so leave to the absolute latest time. Just watch and monitor. I think you'll see it start to break through anyway
