How do you get your flock NPIP tested?

Whenever I read about nice good looking healthy birds it says they are NPIP tested. Why do people get them NPIP tested? What does that do? Prevent disease, what?

And if so how do I get my flock NPIP tested???

NPIP is testing for Avian Flu, this is mandatory with most breeders and shows. To get it done contact your poultry division of agriculture. Got mine done for free from the local Ag-poultry guy

The test is for Pullorum-Typhoid. Being NPIP tested enables you to transport or sell your birds or hatching eggs to most other states, a law that is not enforced often, but can be stringently. You also need your birds or flock to be tested to sell at auction, swap meets and to be shown.
