How do you grow mango seeds?

Carefully cut the husk off the seed I cut along the edges at the pointed end and peel it back.

Lay the seed kernal in moist paper towel in side a zip bag and set in a warm window. Don't seal the bag, the seed needs a little air. keep the towel moist and check for mold. When you see a root, put the kernal in moist potting soil with the root pointed down, barely covering the kernal and keep it moist. the leaf shoot will emerge. Now cover the seed with a little more potting soil and water as needed. It's a tropical plant so don't let the temps drop below 45 degrees.​

I don't mean to offend, however, it appears from those pictures that you have some rot on your seed. This can be nearly impossible to overcome. I have grown several mangoes from seed using the damp paper towel in a ziplock baggie method as mentioned before, and would highly recommend it. Just watch the paper towel closely for any signs of mold, and change it out frequently. I know many people use your method of toothpicks and a glass of water to sprout avocados, but I found the baggie system works well for them as well. However, if you can, find a way of keeping the bag warm without putting it in the window, as this can lead to mold growth very quickly, and will kill your sprout.

A side note on growing mangoes from seed- when new leaves come in they are a dark brown/red color, not the bright green most people are used to. Don't let this concern you, it's absolutely normal

I usually just pot them up in half perlite half /potting soil mix and give them bottom heat and full sun. Somewhere like a warm deck or on cement work good. Make sure you pot has good drainage holes in the bottom. I usually use a 1 gallon black plastic nursery pot with the big holes in the bottom. Keep damp but not overly wet. Let it dry out a little on top of the soil before watering again. Pot up as your tree grows. In general you get better mango trees from grafted cuttings than from seed unless you are purposely trying to make a new variety. Some seed grown mangos make for good root stock for grafting onto though.
