I am at the backend of day 18 now. My Call eggs, if I see the guides right qnd see these eggs right, are possibly developing a bit quicker than what a 26 to 28 day hatch would look like. I think i am closer to what the eggs look like on day 21 to 22. Could it be possible for these call eggs to hatch early should I put them in lockdown sooner than day 26, and if that is a yes, should I also be seeking the first internal pip sign before starting lockdown altogether? What is the standard for this from thise who have done it before successfully? Also are the smaller eggs more prone to earlier hatching? Also THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RESPONDING!
I have 7 eggs and they grew very steady throughout and I am pleased but worried I will miss my cues to get them out of the eggs.....

YOU ARE ALL AMAZING ADVISERS AND ROCKSTAR STEWARDS FOR EVEN TRYING TO KEEP FOWL. THANKS FOR BEING HERE I APPRECITE ALL OF YOU A LOT.

Also I have incubator at 99 and 50 - 55% and have backup hygrometer and thermometer qnd all has been stable the whole time at 99. The incubator will not allow me to bump it to 99.5 it only works in whole numbers for adjustments.

Hi!

Sorry, nobody has responded, but this would have been better if posted in the duck forum, maybe.

They wouldn't be off by that much, but putting them in lockdown a day early wouldn't hurt, regardless. By now you probably already did.

Here's an article on how to assist call ducks hatching if they need some help.

Wishing you a great hatch!

HI ALL OF YOU! Also I am sorry i have not replied I have been nursing Call babies. Out of 7 that started I had one quit at end cycle and the other 6 are ALIVE AND WELL RIGHT NOW! I AM A NEWBIR AND MADE A LOT OF MISTAKES. I NEED TO STRESS SOMETHING TO ALL OF YOU....

THESE DUCKLINGS WOULD NOT ALL BE HERE IF I HAD NOT READ ALL OF YOUR THREADS AND POSTS AND ADVICE COLUMNS. YOUR WORDS AND HELP ARE PRICELESS AND PRECIOUS AND SO WORTH IT TO ME. I DONT CARE WHO ELSE GIVES A CRAP,I DO! YOU SAVED ME FROM INSTANT FAILURE BECAUSE YOU PREPARED ME FOR THE PROBLEMS THAT CAME UP. I HAVE TO THANK ALL OF YOU FROM DESP IN MY HEART FOR CARING ABOUT DUCKS THIS WAY. THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH. BLESS ALL OF YOU QND A SPECIAL BLESSING TO MY BREEDER THE FSRM DID AN AMAZING JOB WITH THIS SHIP AND WITH JUST SIMPLY BEIGN HONEST AND GOOD PEOPLE.

YOU ALL ARE AMAZING.

Also, a good hygrometer that is trustworthy is worth every penny and I am regretful for some of my bad choices but they are so HERE AND NOW!

The photo is 4 of the 6. The other two are isolated and resting up still they are to small and tired for the rough play of the vigorous ones that are full tilt.

I understand Calls more now. Just buying them as ducklings does not tell the full tale of the struggle to hatch them and rear them through the first weeks. I am SO LUCKY I BOUGHT AND HATCHED GOOD EGGS. I learned things I would never have otherwise. Huge experience. Huge.
