How do you guys train your puppies not to Chase your chickens or chicks and ducks

We just recently bought a 8 week old Springer Spaniel puppy girl name the lily and we have about 20 chickens 9 of those are baby chicks the run around the yard free frequently we're trying to train Lily not to Chase to bite or hassle the chickens can she be curious would you recommend that her walking to them we don't want to spank her is there any non hurtful ways to train a dog not to Chase I would like to hear chickens I would like to hear all of your stories and ideas on training your dogs and puppies not to chase Your Chickens and does anybody have experience with Springer Spaniels in chickens and Ducks we do have two duck

Springer Spaniel is a bird dog, bred to flush out birds for hunters to shoot and retrieve the bird afterwards.
My Neighbor had one for years and that dog constantly had his nose to the ground searching for something to chase.
They are a pretty dog but full of energy.
Hopefully someone that has/had one with Poultry will chime in. GC
