well since you're going to post then run so as not to deal with the opinions or responses of other people, here we go.
your religion is not the only one that believes you will suffer in the afterlife for not believing what so and so believes, so if you're wrong your're still in trouble any way.
also you say that people preach tolerance but then scold other beliefs. it isn't the case, what they have problems with is when people are pushy and rude by trying to change one's own beliefs.
I will not go into why I am not christian, since it would cause an argument, much like your above post may very well do.
So what seed are you throwing? Scolding people, causing anger and hurt feelings then running? that's awful nice of you.
I agree with this as well. I still will throw them a life preserver, feed and water them when they are hungry or thirsty. If they need the divine word, I would pull out the Bible and hand it to them, without ANY word but whatever works for them. there is no such thing as HELL as one of my aunt said (she is Catholic) as a place but hell for your soul. Well for me, if I don't care about anyone else, my conscience will bother me in why I didn't help him when he is so hungry and I had to turn my back on him when I have plenty of food? I don't HAVE to be religious or of faith to do the good deeds of mankind.
As for me when I do get those kind of people, I would say no thank you. Many times they DO come back and start a little pushy. So I quit answering the door or wave them on down to the next neighbor. I would love to get into a debate with them whatever I learned from the History Channel (ie. the ten plagues which there are many scientific proofs to back it up even today has it as well). They don't stick around long enough because it would get heated. Even the sign "NO SOLISCIATING" would not deter them either.
