How do you house pigeons?

How do you house them?

What breed are you thinking about getting?
2 nests per pair each pair
A Bird needs 1.5 sq feet [ rollers] but the more the better
I feed mine seed and Scratch grains, they also need grit and calcium

Some I kept in a large loft and others I kept in cages. It just depends on the breed.

You want ferals? That's surprising - not many people want them. I would suggest adopting them as there are a lot of rescues that need homes. How many do you want? Do you want to breed them? Fly them?

I'd like to fly them... Not so much breeding... Yeah, I've read they aren't the best of pets, but still... As for adopting, here in MS I have no way of knowing what needs adopting... If anyone knows of a place in the Memphis, TN area, I could pick them up... But, how do you house them?

They live in my coop, and eat chicken feed. If you get chicks, racing type, they won't leave.

So, I have been looking... If I were to keep two pigeons... some breed of homers... whether rocks or something else, how large of a loft would I need?

As a general rule, figure 4 square ft per pair. A rabbit hutch works well. You will need a flight pen of some kind as well. The only problem you'll have is if you decide to have young you'll be out of room real quick!
