Not sure what you are asking here, but chickens need to be completely locked up at night in a secure coop that is draft free, plenty of ventilation and a roost bar for sleeping on.

Welcome to BYC. Unless you live in an area of extreme cold, a dry, draft free, well ventilated coop and adequate feed is all that is needed to get birds through the winter.
