How do you keep your butter?

OOOh something new to search on - butter crock water - living in an area that gets warm, I keep my butter in the fridge, but when I want some, I want in right away. Off to search!

Butter crock with water in the summer! Works great. Can use very cold water on very hot days. Lehman's has marble and glass ones if you dislike the stonewear ones. In the winter, I don't usually use the water, it stays cool up in the cupboard... don'tcha love old houses?

it's called the french butter pot - and it works well. You have to keep changing the water every few days - more in the summer. Butter keeps really well! You can google them on line if you can't find one in the store.

I have a vintage pyrex or anchor hocking butter dish that holds one stick of butter for quick use and the rest stay in the fridge until needed. TerrieLacy would be proud to know that I also have one of the old, ugly harvest gold Tupperware butter holders too LOL. I LOVE old stuff and everything in my house is vintage, especially in the kitchen.

I bought mine earlier this year and I loved it! Smoooooth as it goes!

Yes you have to change the water often to keep the butter from going rancid.

I keep a stick in the fridge for cooking, and a stick in the Butter Bell on the counter. I think it's great. Even throughout the summer, the butter didn't turn rancid. And, it keeps it at the perfect consistency for spreading. Don't keep it on the counter above the dishwasher, though ...
