Well, I'm getting three Buff orpingtons in Sept, and if they have a disease and we don't know, I wouldn't want them to die and I would bring them to a vet if I knew, but I don't know how to tell if they will or will not have a disease, so just in case, how do you tell if your chick has a disease? I'm only looking for the most common ones.

It's good to be informed on chicken health, but there is no need to borrow worry. Since you are not getting chicks until September you have plenty of time to do some reading up on raising chicks, housing, care and health issues.

I recommend that you visit the LEARNING CENTER there is a wealth of information about chickens there. You may also want to pick up a copy of THE CHICKEN HEALTH HANDBOOK and check out The Chicken Chick's CHICKEN CARE page, lots of good practical information there too.
