Yesterday was day 21. I have one egg that was to be hatching. Yesterday, I heard it chirping all day, also could hear it moving around. Never pipped the outside of the shell. This morning, 24 hours after noticing the chirps etc, nothing, no sound, no movement, no pip. Candled, could see no movement. How do you know when things have gone South. Could the chick just be resting even though there is no pip and was very active yesterday the day it was suppose to hatch? Or did the chick more than likely not make it? The egg is under a broody hen, not a bator.
