I'm a proud new owner of 4 baby chicks. The internet can be helpful at times but I find the best advice is from fellow chick moms out there.... I finally have the heat lamp adjusted to the perfect temperature where they tend to spread all over to sleep. They will explore kick and play and then they will sleep and they chirp a lot. I hope they're happy, is there any way i would know if they weren't? What are signs I should watch out for? Any helpful tips on raising chicks in general?
If you've raised chicks before what would you have done different? I would love any advice.:)

I have raised severel chicks.

When they are happy they play, sleep quietly, and they dont have the coninuos chirping as if they have lost thier mother.

Any ither questions?

what are ways I can make them more comfortable so they don't chirp for their mom?
Probably ditch the heatlamp and go with a heat plate or Mama heating pad... just put MHP or mama heating pad in the search bar above. This way they will have a natural night and day cycle and likely sleep better.

IDK, this is my plan from my research I will be getting my chicks in 33 days...

Good luck

Gary

Most generelly when chcikens are moving around getting ready to sleep, there is lots of talking and rustling.

My chicks usually get loud and have soft chirps when getting ready to settle for the night,or even small naps.

Are you noticing lots more peeping when their settling down?Or is it loud and continuous?
it's mostly right before they sleep. They will be quiet when they are up because they're mostly eating and pecking everything any playing. But when they start settling down they chirp until the last chick falls asleep.

Very good plan. I love the MHP and that is what I use 99% of the time. Right now I have too many chicks and had to break out the heat lamps and hate it.
