How do you make a splint?

I have a quail with a bad leg and I want to try to help him. He's only a week old so still very small. I was just wondering what methods you use to try to splint a leg that is hurt.

To make a splint, just use something stiff like a stick and wrap cloth around the stick and the leg.

Yeah that's what I'm asking. I've never had to deal with something like this before and I was just curious what other people do to fix a leg.

I had to splint my finger. How small is the chicks leg? And yeah, use a smooth stick against the leg, or wrap the leg first. I hope you find something that works.
