How Do You Make Feathers White?

I have a dirty rooster that I want to make pretty for the county fair.

Any ideas on how to get dingy feathers bright white? I tried soap and water without any luck. I think he felt dejected

after the first bath... so I dont want to bath the poor guy too much

PS- he is a Silver Laced Polish (frizzle) ~~~

For my white silkies, I use the poultry shampoo, and white vinegar. It usually helps...

Ohhhhhhh... I did not think of vinegar!!! VERY SMART! Sadly, I dont have poultry shampoo around.

Should I spray his feathers with vinegar and let it soak.... and then shampoo with human shampoo? Or do I just make a wash out of the white vinegar>?

If it will work on your white silkie, then it should work on my frizzle
