I was able to kill the feather lice (NOT red mites) off of my birds (pigeons) with Ivermectin and Borax water baths, but I'm concerned the feather lice might have went onto the surrounding surfaces. How long can feather lice live in the bedding, wooden surfaces, etc.? Or will they die off on their own without any habitable feathers to live on?

I've read a few days to about a week for lice. If you have a way to treat the environment with something like permethrin, that's the maximally safe way to ensure nothing crawls back onto the bird (that's what I did the one time I encountered bird lice, so I didn't directly test their enivronmental survival time).
