How do you manage iced water?

Flip, stomp, refill.
Bigger containers if not frozen solid just bust ice.
If things get too solid. It's hammer time. Claw side of hammer, hatchet or sturdy shovel blade.
exactly what I do! usually I have to hammer the ice out (because it will get solid here), but then I always make the big ice block many little chicken-sized chunks of ice. the hens can then eat the ice, and they get the same amount of water.

I use a heated water base, with a galvanized waterer - one set in the run, and a second set I can quickly plug in and fill inside the coop when the birds must stay inside.

I would really prefer to set up nipple-waterers with a bucket de-icer, to keep their water supply cleaner, just don't have the stuff yet

BTW, my favorite supplier for all things chicken - and cow, and goat, and horse, .....

I also use the galvanized waterer and heated base. I tried ping pong ball floating in a black rubber tub but those don't work when it's really cold.

Sure. I don't think I have a better picture of mine. The second and third are random web pictures that show what it is more clearly. My second one is also double walled and the same size. It is stainless steel inside and acrylic for most of the outside, I don't have a picture and can't find a random picture of it. . I found each at thrift stores for $5 each. The first was a random chance finding. The second I found after looking for a year but I only rarely got to thrift stores in that time so it is hard to tell how hard they are to find that way.
I love it! I am know on the look out for said wine bucket! I have a sister who is a tag sale queen. Thanks, saysfaa!

I don’t.
We don’t have frozen water where I live. If the temperature drops below 0, it goes back up within a couple of hours, never in my life (22) have I seen water freeze outside the freezer.
I bet the government would also call an “emergency situation” and instruct people to flee the country… lol
