How do you manage treating 5 chickens with bumblefoot?

Try jedds.com for the future. I didn't know I could get doxy, and many other antibiotics right online. I ordered last week and they say it will be here by Friday this week. Good luck with your bird.
Oh wow, I had no idea I could get it OTC. Thanks so much for sharing! Did you get the doxyvet?

I think I'll just order some now just to have on hand in case something like this happens again.

Please let me know how you end up using it. Just following their guidelines for birds, I'm wondering if I should just feed her the 7 drops to make sure she gets the right dosage.

I'm at the same spot right now and it's so hard. I started mine on amoxicillin last Thursday since I had some on hand but it looked badly infected so I tried cutting the lesion out on Sunday but it looks worse when I checked yesterday. I bit the bullet and am bringing her in to Urgent Care tomorrow. I'm unable to get doxy without a prescription. Hoping that's all she'll need. If they want to do an X-ray or if she needs something out of my budget I don't know what I'll do.

no need of x-ray for bumblefoot. you can use blu-kote on her wound and keep her caged till she gets better.

I use doxycycline meant for human. better quality and much cheaper than vet medicines.

If they're not responding to treatment or getting worse do you just keep treating until they get to the point where they'd be better off to put them down? I didn't want to spend money on the vet either but I'd feel so guilty if I didn't try.

if they don't respond to treatment they die no matter what you do. 10 years experience, so much money wasted before I got it.
