how do you mark your hens by age?

Numbered bands, 25 for $6.00. I got No. 11 for adult birds.

thank you all. I am not going to do the zip ties but I will go with the bands.
I had a bird I bought at auction that was horribly crippled due to someone not checking the band and it had grown right into her leg so much so, you could barely see the green zip tie. we cut it off but she never walked right and had to be separated from the flock.
