how do you not put eggs in the incubator?

If this is a test I failed miserably.

My incubators are almost full and I just bought a LG so I can stagger hatches.

Oh yeah since I just got confirmation on the eggs I have coming being sent... today and monday... stop???

I'll figure it out after I have ten new baby dels to sort through, more sizzles, more seramas and the shipped eggs hatched out. Probably.

But I have certain - over winter - goals this year. So they're all cooking right along...

The shipped eggs are from Halo and Nivtup - omg the prayers being said for better luck this time. 2nd attempt with Halo's eggs and third attempt with maran's eggs.

Not stopping just yet...

Well, I am going to try something new for me. After the ones I have cooking are hatched...

I am going to put ONE in the incubator. Then if it hatches, I will put ONE in the incubator again.

I am hoping that this will give me the fix I need without my having to donate my paycheck to the local feed store.

I let DH stop me for about 6 months. He said he didn't like the garage smelling like a petting zoo

I don't understand: I think petting zoos smell lovely!

Anyway, I put 10 silkie/showgirl eggs, 2 wellsummer eggs and 13 lavender d'uccle eggs in my new Brinsea Octagon 20 last night.

Cuddling newly hatched chicks while you watch a good movie as you lay in front of a fire in the fireplace is like heaven to me.

Ok, reading this thread tells me I don't want to start hatching. I got my first three chicks last may, DH put up a small coop and run, Then I realized the coop I bought didn't have enough ventilation.

Ok, so we have to remodel.

Why not make it bigger and add a couple more. He rolled his eyes, then rolled up his sleeves. We completed that project a month ago. I have 5 now, and I am always looking at the breed chart to see what other breeds I would like. I could add a couple more to my set up I have now, but anymore and I will have to build a whole seperate coop. I may be ready to do that by next spring.

Hubby just isn't aware yet.

So if I am now coming to realize that I may be addicted to chickens,

, what would happen to me if I started to hatch them too?

Edit to say- I only wanted enough chickens for some fresh eggs and fertilizer for my garden.

How do I not put eggs in the incubator? I don't have one!!! I know that it is coming though. When my hen went broody last month I said to my DH "so can I go to the feed store and pick up an EE to put with the other chicks when they hatch?" He said yes, then in a later conversation I mentioned that there is no garuntee that an EE will lay a nice blue egg, he asks me why I don't just buy a real Amerucana, I reply that they are pricey and finding a breeder in the area is hard. His response is that we will have to get an incubator and buy hatching eggs. My answer was okay. Then I found out there was a breeder and hour from me. And they have copper marans too!!! So I won't have to have them shipped!! Yep that darn incubator will be my downfall. I can always sell the extra little fluffy butts.

ya i thnk im gunna hatch through winter especially if my seramas start laying!!!!!

he's neat. I need a good girl to match him though.

My sizzles need a lot of work and I need more sizzles. My delawares need a lot of work I need more delawares.
My seramas need work, I need more seramas.
I need more blue rocks. I need more marans. I would like some nice blue wheaten ameraucanas. So I hatch.
