How do you prevent inbreeding with coturnix?

How large a population do you have? If you do inbreed, it's best to breed parents to offspring rather than sibling to sibling. If you have a large enough population to have at least three breeding sets, you can extend the time for new blood by doing spiral breeding.

Spiral breeding is where you take a male from pen 1 and put him in pen 2. Put a male from pen 2 into pen 3, and put a male from pen 3 into pen 1. Repeat every 2 or 3 generations. You still need to bring in new blood, but you can delay it a few more generations.
