How do you produce a lavender???

    I am just starting to get into breeding. My curiosity is getting to me. I really want to know how people get lavenders??? Can anyone give the secret away? [​IMG]

    No secret--you have to breed in the lav gene. Lav is recessive, so you can't create a lavender bird in one generation.

    If you must cross from a different breed to introduce the gene, then you'll likely spend several generations gettng back to type.

    So it would be so much easier to buy a lavender. And then go from there. [​IMG] I know easy way out but hey it works for me. [​IMG]
