How do you pronounce Marans?

The French say "MUH-rahns" rolling the r, but I just say Marans.

And, FWIW, there is always an "s" at the end. Not sure if plural is marans or maranses, though

(actually I think it is probably marans, kind of like fish or deer)

It is Marans with the "S", for one or for a whole flock. The French don't pronounce the S at the end.
