I always get them a brooder, put it in my room, and practically move myself into the brooder with them, and I invite guests over often so that they can be held and tamed to be pet chickens, cause that's what mine are!

We are 10 weeks into our back yard chicken life. We spent much of the pandemic building the coop and reading everything we could on chicken-raising, for the purpose of eggs. My husband and I have gotten very attached to these sweet girls and they are definitely our pets. Some of them love napping in our laps and others are more aloof. We talk to them, laugh at their antics, and appreciate all we are learning on this jourhey.
